This website and instruction were created by master's candidate, Hailey Hemmerling. She attends The University of Hawaii at Mānoa and is currently in her final semester before graduation. Hailey has taught second grade for almost six years and feels passionately about student mindfulness in the classroom. On multiple occasions, she has seen, first-hand, how well a classroom can run when students are properly self-regulating. However, to get a majority of students to that place, interventions must be implemented; enter meditative breathing and yoga. This website serves as a platform to give teachers an introduction to the world of yoga and mindfulness in the classroom. There are high hopes that you will be able to successfully implement at least one aspect from this instruction - cheers and namaste.
